Who is WL4L for? WL4L is ideal for those with previous experience in a structured weight loss program, such as My New Weigh, State of Slim, Weight Watchers, etc., who would like to sustain or continue their efforts. The program will also be beneficial for those already working with a Clinic provider and who would like additional weight management behavior change support.
Is WL4L a diet? WL4L is not a diet, but is compatible with various diets you may already be following or have followed in the past. Using general principles around weight loss, mindset, health and nutrition science, this program is designed to support your journey, regardless of how you got started.
What is the CU Medicine Wellness and Weight Management Clinic? The CU Medicine Weight Management and Wellness Clinic is a multi-disciplinary clinic specializing in weight management through evidence-based weight management programs, physician-directed weight management services, nutrition consultations with registered dietitians, body composition and metabolism assessments and testing, and mental well-being and behavioral health services. Our providers, registered dietitians and other healthcare professionals specialize in weight management and are committed to helping our patients and program participants achieve their goals.
Part of CU Medicine, the region’s largest and most comprehensive multi-specialty physician group practice, the Clinic is also part of state-of-the-art CU Anschutz Health and Wellness Center (located on the second floor), a hub of whole-person wellness located on the CU Anschutz Medical Campus. Our integrative partnerships with a variety of healthcare providers and services provide invaluable resources for our patients, program participants and visitors.
I've previously participated in WL4L, can I continue with the program? Yes! WL4L is specifically designed for ongoing support—for as long as you need it. No one class is alike, so the tools, insight and overall discussion are unique to each class.
Can I use my classes beyond my subscription time frame? No, classes must be used concurrently within your allotted subscription time frame.
How do I sign up or my initial consultation? When you register for your subscription, our Wellness Navigator will schedule your initial consultation with the WL4L RD group leader.
How do the virtual classes work? Participants will receive an email with their Zoom link prior to start of each class. During class, we ask that you leave your video on.
Will my health insurance cover the cost of WL4L? It is likely that you can use your HSA or FSA funds for WL4L. Contact your benefits administrator for more information.
What if I cannot attend all classes within my subscription or need to drop out of the program? Participants may receive an 80% refund prior to the second session within your subscription should you choose or are unable to participate in the full program. An email to your RD group leader is required prior to the start of the second class. At the start of the second class, refunds will not be honored.
